Momma's home with Evey today because she is sick. It's really miserable when a toddler has the stomach flu.

Vintage Christmas

On Saturday Revolution Church hosted a Christmas event called Vintage Christmas. It was so much fun. Everyone did a great job! Here are some of our highlights...

18 Months

A little over a week ago our little Evey turned 18 months! She is in such a fun stage (but really she has always been so fun, it's just her personality).

We saw Dr. Tran this week and she said Evey is doing great! Her height has caught back up with her weight, she's now 25th percentile in both.

Other 18 month happenings:

Evey LOVES Elmo!!

She is talking/gabbering up a storm.

She can imitate almost any word you say, both English and Korean(and the pronunciation is getting better and better every day)

She's great at sharing:)

Loves pretending, she reads books aloud, feeds her stuffed animals and babies, changes their diapers, and puts them to sleep.

RUNS around stores, she keeps us on our toes.

Still hates most vegetables but she's getting better. The only thing she'll eat is squash and brocolli(shocked!)

Birthday Party

I had a wonderful Birthday weekend. My mom, aunt, uncle and cousins were around to help celebrate. On Friday my cousins decorated my office and that night we did a family dinner at CPK. On Saturday, our friends the Goughs, my mom, Andy, Evey and I went to Oak Glen to pick apples (crowded but fun!). That night, while my mom spent time with Evey, Andy and I got to go out to a movie (which we never do anymore). And then to top it all off, Andy and my family threw me a birthday party on Sunday after church. It was a great weekend! Thanks Mom, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Stu, Alicia, Nick and Julia. And I expecially thank Andy, the most awesome husband in the world!

Yes, I am now 30. But this Kalua Cream Pie made it all worth it :)

It's funny how lately we don't seem to take any pictures of the three of us. I guess it's just easy to focus on Evey! :) This picture was taken in Maui at a Luau wedding rehearsal dinner for our friends, Ryan and Jen Mallari.

Last month we took a week long trip to Michigan. We went to visit my brother, Colby, sister, Sami, and their mom, Ginna. We had a ton of fun hanging with them and the Peters clan out there. Here are some pics of our trip...

14 months

So, it's been two months now since I posted on this blog. A lot happens in two months for a one-year-old. Especially since it is summer vacation, we've been doing a ton of fun stuff.

After Andy finished the school year we trekked up to the Bay Area (San Jose) to spend about a week and a half to visit with my mom and family. We went to the park, went swimming, and spent an evening at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We had so much fun!

What a little peanut!

So we took Evey to her doctor yesterday to get her 12 month exam. 3 shots, ouch! But she did great. We got another confirmation that her weight and height have dropped. Here are the stats:

Height: 28 inches (10th percentile)
Weight: 19 pounds 8 ounces (25th percentile)

A year ago today...

Today is our little girl's first birthday. I can't believe it has gone by so fast. I feel like she should still be a newborn. This year has been so full of joy all brought by our Evey. We love who she is and who we see her becoming. She loves people, loves babies, loves giving kisses. She has the most beautiful smile that just makes your heart leap. She is curious and intelligent, and she loves activity.

We had a Korean celebration this past Saturday.



Immediately after we had our friends over to celebrate with us. What a fun day. I don't think I've ever seen her more happy!

She had a hard time this day. She kept whining and looking around for Mom. This was the only picture that she was smiling in :)

Lately some of the biggest changes we see in Evey have to do with her hightened sense of curiosity. She wants to investigate everything, sometimes getting herself into potentially dangerous situations. But I love seeing her learn each time she tries something new :)

We got her a toddler carseat which has been sitting in our family room waiting to get installed. The other day we found her like this playing with the blinds...yikes!


Evey loves pulling things out of their places. This morning she had fun banging the bowls together.

Swim lessons

On Monday we started our first ever swim lessons for Evey! The city of long beach does Mommy/Daddy and Me classes so we're taking advantage. I don't know how much they'll actually teach her but it sure is fun. Stay tuned for more pics, it's Daddy's turn on Wednesday:)
